a good day for jon...

today jon had a good day..his pain level stayed at around 5-6..the doctor is going to up his nueroten medication..he did great in therapy - his mom got to watch the dragon PT girl work jon like crazy..he said it was rough!
i just talked to him and he's on his way to sleep for the night..hopefully another good night's rest..
continue to pray for his strength to come back..especially his triceps..that will REALLY help to transfer himself to and from beds and wheelchairs..also that he gains more upper trunk control..right now he has to have a strap around his chest to keep him from falling over..he says its the wierdest thing..its really just like his head on top of a water balloon - its really more scary then anything!!
sister larkin from the orange 2nd ward will be with jon tomorrow..i have kristen thompson coming over during the day for a couple of hours while i go visit jon for a bit..they girls i can tell LOVE having mom home now to help with homework and to be here with them..i can especially tell a difference in rachel...its hard to try to be in both places at once..having jon home in our house will make this SO much easier im hoping!!!

Dear Jon and Christina
How can we every thank you for keeping this blog? It really has changed my life! I LOVE reading it. John and I spoke in church on Sunday for Easter, and as we prepared our talks, Jeff told me something cool...he said a couple of things...one woman he knew in a wheelchair, whenever was asked how she was doing, she responded, "I'm grateful." I loved that, and immediately thought of you and Jon. No matter what you face from day to day, you are truly focused on the "plan" as a whole. What a blessing to us all. The other was a man with some physical disabilities that he wouldn't escape in this life, with a great upbeat spirit...someone once asked him why he was so upbeat all the time, and he simply responded, "I know it's not permanent." Easter sure meant a whole lot more to me this year as I thought of ALL of your family, and the great power of the atonement. One thing John shared at church, was the Hebrew translators came across a word in the Bible..."kaphar"...which literally means "to cover." So, they translated that word, and created a new one..."atonement." So, the word atonement literally means to "cover." And certainly, as I read about you and Jon, we see the Lord "covering" you and protecting you. You are amazing. I love you so much! Have a great day, and keep up the amazing work. What an inspiration!!!

Christina and Jon,

Our thoughts are with you. Apparently all the contact information we have for you two short of your mailing address is either lost or not working. I'll have to get your phone number from Walter tomorrow.

Matt tells me to you "Hi." She's sorry she hasn't emailed you, but she was counting on me to have all this info (which I thought I did - nuts!)

It's wonderful to hear how far Jon's come over such a short period of time. We know there'll be good days and bad days. Neurontin is a great medication,it might make you groggy, but at least it's non-addictive. Matt takes it daily for her pain. What's Jons current prescription strength for it (or perhaps that's for a private conversation)?

We'll be giving you a call as soon as we get your phone number from Walt. Until then our hopes go with you and Jon.

Sincerely,
Matt and JP
